The Shaking of The American Church

In the midst of uncertainty and upheaval, a divine shaking is taking place within the American church. The Lord, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, is calling His people (more specifically the leaders) to a deeper understanding of true worship, preaching, discipleship and fellowship—one that transcends religious systems and traditions that are dull of the Spirits leadership and voids His power in the church and refocusing our hearts and minds on Him and His kingdom.
The Shaking of Religious Systems:
For too long, the American church has been ensnared by religious structures that prioritize rituals over relationship, traditions over transformation and leaders over the sheep. But now, the Lord is shaking these systems to their core, revealing their inadequacy in glorifying God and discipling believers into the image of Christ. As Hebrews 12:27 declares, "This phrase, 'Yet once more,' indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain."
In the midst of this shaking, the Lord is calling the leaders of His people to a radical reorientation of their hearts and minds. He is inviting us to shift our focus from outward forms of religion to inward transformation, from man-made traditions and strivings to a genuine pursuit of His character and presence. As Jesus declared in John 4:23-24, "But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
Embracing the Kingdom of God:
Central to this awakening is a renewed focus on the kingdom of God—a kingdom characterized by righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). As the American church lays aside its preoccupation with power, programs, prestige, and prosperity, it will discover the true riches found in surrender to the reign (Lordship) of Christ. The kingdom of God is not a political agenda, religious infrastructure or a social movement; it is the rule and reign of Jesus Christ in the hearts and lives of people.
A Call to Repentance and Renewal:
In response to this shaking, the American church is being called to repentance and renewal. We are called to repent of our complacency, our compromise, and our idolatry. We are called to return to our first love—to Jesus Christ—and to recommit ourselves to His kingdom purposes. As Revelation 3:19 proclaims, "Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent."
As the Lord continues to shake the American church, let us embrace this divine awakening with humility, fear and reverence. Let us lay aside worthless things that have no benefit to spiritual growth, and let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). In Him alone will we find the true fulfillment of our deepest longings and the restoration of our broken world. May this shaking lead to a revival of true worship, a reformation of hearts and minds, and a establishing of the glory of God in the American church and beyond.
